Apple & Google Wallet membership
Add the Wallet channel to Mailchimp
Turn a Mailchimp audience into live wallet passes, and push from any automation.
Get startedWhy connect it
What the Mailchimp integration does.
Audiences become pass holders
Issue a wallet pass to a Mailchimp audience or a tagged group in one move.
Journeys can trigger updates
Fire a pass update or notification as a step in a customer journey.
Keep contact data in sync
Update pass fields from merge fields, and track installs alongside email opens.
No engineering needed
Connect through Zapier, or automate directly over the API.
Live in three steps
Connect your audience
Link a Mailchimp audience or segment to a pass template.
Issue the passes
Send wallet passes to the audience - once, or automatically as people join.
Update from journeys
Add a pass update or notification step anywhere in a journey.
Two-way
What lands on every Mailchimp contact.
PocketPass writes these back as each pass is issued and installed, so Wallet becomes something you can segment on without leaving Mailchimp.
| Field in Mailchimp | What it holds |
|---|---|
PPID | The pass id. Use it to trigger a push from an automation, or from the API. |
PPURL | This contact's own add-to-wallet page. Works on both wallets - it offers the right one. |
PPAPPLE | Straight into Apple Wallet, skipping the install page. |
PPGOOG | Straight into Google Wallet, skipping the install page. |
PPINST | Whether they've added it. Segment on this. |
Use it in a Mailchimp campaign
Drop the pass id into any message with Mailchimp's own merge syntax:
*|PPID|*Mailchimp caps a merge tag at 10 characters and uppercases it, which is why these are abbreviated.
How it stays in sync
Webhook-driven
Mailchimp webhooks cover subscribes and unsubscribes, backed by a scheduled sweep for everything else.
Push from a Mailchimp automation
Add a webhook step to a Mailchimp automation to fire a wallet push mid-journey.
